National Day of Prayer: Because our nation needs it

Do you have 30 minutes to pray for our nation? The 57th Annual National Day of Prayer will take place May 1, 2008 at the Rush County Courthouse Commissioners Room 102.

The Rush County Ministerial Association is sponsoring a different type of event this year. From 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. individuals may participate in a prayer vigil in room 102 of the Rush County Courthouse to offer silent prayers for our nation. Prayers are offered for our national, county, and city leaders, plus the military, business, education, Church and family centers of our nation. Printed resources will be available to guide individuals in their prayers, and to lift up the names of our local governmental leaders.

Stop by room 102 as your schedule permits, for a few minutes or longer. Local pastors will be present throughout the day to answer questions and for assistance.

The theme for this year’s National Day of Prayer is "Prayer! America's Strength and Shield" and is based on Psalm 28:7 which states: "The Lord is my strength and shield; my heart trusts in God and I am helped."

The Rush County Ministerial Association invites our county citizens to pray for God’s guidance and wisdom by participating in this National Day of Prayer Vigil.
