---- — Starting Veterans Day, Mon, Nov 11, Knightstown Diner will be the local donation site throughout the holiday season for Hugs for Heroes, Inc. Hugs for Heroes, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting our troops serving overseas through ongoing shipments of essential items and notes of love and appreciation. Our mission is to show our troops that those back home are thinking about them and that we appreciate their service and sacrifice. Our hope is to make the hardships they endure a little easier to bear.

Knightstown Diner will treat you to a free cup of coffee or hot chocolate or hot tea everytime you bring in an item to donate or a letter/note of appreciation and support. Check out their website for a list of suggested items to Also, “like” their Facebook page.

On Veterans Day, Monday, Nov. 11, all veterans and those currently serving in the armed forces can eat free at the Knightstown Diner. This promotion is sponsored by and made possible by the good folks at Gray Auto. Knightstown Diner will be open 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. (special dinner hours for our Veterans) on Monday.

The community is also invited to free music events this weekend. Free live entertainment: Don Ford, folk & Americana singer. 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, Nov. 8., and on Saturday, Nov. 9, enjoy Carl Bentley & The Eagle Creek Band, 6 to 8 p.m. No cover. All ages welcome to both show at the Knightstown Diner, 12 E. Main St, Knightstown.
