The Rushville Rotary Club met on Tuesday, September 17th, in the Kenneth L. Earnest Conference Room at Rush Memorial Hospital. There were several brags from the membership. Mary Page bragged that she is expecting her 5th baby next April. John McCane bragged that things are going well for the ECDC. Chip West bragged that he had occasion to tour some of the Lincoln boyhood memorials in Southwestern Indiana and ran into former Rushville Rotarian Louis Disinger taking part in a living-history program. Sandy Fussner reminded everyone that this coming weekend is Rush Fest.
Dr. John Williams was the host for this week’s program and he introduced Kim Nicholson, director of differentiated learning for Rush County Schools. Before Kim could begin her presentation, however, Dr. John pointed out that Kim is Rotarian Ed Lyskowinski’s daughter.
Kim gave a very interesting program on how our school corporation offers a wide range of programs that are tailored to meet the needs of various students. The range of programs, Kim noted, are not just for special needs students, but also for those who are high-end achievers. Kim’s remarks were accompanied by a power-point presentation that made clear how clearly student focused the programs are.
Kim holds bachelors and masters degrees from Ball State University.
