---- — Garry Cooley, executive director of the Rush County Community Foundation, has announced that the grant application deadline for the Youth in Philanthropy Fund is 4 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2013.
Grants from this fund are to be used toward a local (Rush County) public service project and would be available to any organized youth organization in Rush County. It is intended that the grant application be completed by the youth and overseen by their adult leader. If fundraising is a part of the project then a portion of the proceeds should be returned to the Endowed portion of this Fund in order to help future organizations.
The recipient(s) of this grant will be determined by the Youth in Philanthropy Grants Committee. This committee is comprised of up to sixteen high school students who reside in Rush County. Three adults experienced in the grants process will lead these students through the processes needed to select a recipient(s). The committee’s recommendations will be forwarded to the Foundation Board for final approval to make sure they are consistent with the exempt status and purposes of the Foundation.
If you are interested in applying for a grant from this fund please contact Terry VanNatta or Garry Cooley at the Foundation office for a grant application.
