club chatter: Friends Too

Rushville Republican

RUSHVILLE — Gladys Kuhn was hostess for Friends Too Extension Homemakers Club.

President Roberta Cole opened the meeting and welcomed everyone.

The roll call response was: Who would you like to meet if you could choose anyone?

Answers included an interesting variety of present, historical and biblical people.

Sheila Link brought her mother’s Jan. 6, 1925 Home Ec plan book for the year. It was very different from our present lessons. She also read some very interesting poetry from a keepsake volume.

Jean Chandler gave our club lesson: Raising children in today’s world.

She described methods of effectively dealing with children. Many things are changing in ways of living with computers, Facebook, etc.

Linda Kuhn showed how to make our present projects, very special patriotic quilts.

Gladys gave everyone old, interesting advertising notebooks.

Members enjoyed fall refreshments of pumpkin pie, candy and cider.
