The Rush County Historical Society has a solution for those basketball fans that just hate to see the season end after the excitement of March Madness. Sunday, April 14, the Historical Society will sponsor a group field trip to the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame in New Castle. Open to all, attendees will meet at 2:15 p.m. at the Gowdy House Museum, 619 N. Perkins, Rushville, and car pool and caravan to the Hall of Fame.
The tour, which should begin around 3 p.m., will be led by Indiana Hall of Fame executive director and Rushville graduate Chris May. He will focus on Rush County’s rich basketball history and escort the group on a tour of the facility. He explains, “Even the most veteran basketball fan hasn’t grasped the full extent of Hoosier Hysteria until they’ve seen, heard and stood amongst the legendary and unique surroundings found at the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame.” The cost of admission is $3 per person which will be payable at the door to Rush County Historical Society treasurer Marvin Kuhn. Check payments need to be made out to the Historical Society. Reservations for this trip are required by April 7 and can be made by contacting Kuhn at 765-663-2438 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Following the tour, any of the group that chooses, will head to Montgomery Steakhouse for dinner.
