A musical Rushville Rotary meeting

Rushville Republican

RUSHVILLE — Rushville Rotary met on Tuesday, March 19 for their regular meeting and was entertained by the musical talents of Dr. Dennis Bowman.

Andrew Buzzard was the program chairperson for this meeting and kindly secured Dr. Bowan to display his musical talents. The Rotarians present were entertained with a variety of familiar tunes played  on the electronic piano.

During the Brag for a Buck session local Optometrist Dr. Steve Sickbert bragged on fellow Rotarian Kevin Snyder for helping him out and introducing Dr. Sickbert’s guest speaker last week when the good doctor was out of town on Spring Break.

Dr. Fred Phillips bragged on having had changed his clothes twice for the day (we’re sure his wife was happy with that) and still made it to Rotary at lunch! (Keep in mind he works with animals.) Frank Bruggner, a visiting Rotarian from the Fishers Rotary club was with us today and he bragged on the music and entertainment from our guest, Dr. Dennis Bowman. Frank was appreciative of the wonderful music and enjoyed the opportunity to have lunch while listening to music.

There were no fines.

Pastor Valerie did the “Queen of Hearts” drawing and Frank Bruggner was the winner to try to pull the “queen” and win half the pot, but was not the lucky winner today. Better luck next week!

A discussion on the upcoming slate of officers for the new Rotary year was held. Rotary officers hold office from July 1 to June 30.

Treasurer Dr. Fred Philips did announce that we will be able to donate $2,000.00 to the RCHS Varsity Scholars trip this year. The sponsors will be invited to the April 2 meeting so we can present the check at that time.
