---- — The thirteenth consecutive annual Orange school reunion was held Sunday Sept. 22, 2013 at the New Salem Lions Club with 74 present. Those in attendance were graduates from 1942 through 1958 of the Orange High School along with former students, family members, and friends. Those attending the reunion were seated with their classmates at tables decorated with orange and black school colors and crafted items donated by Donna Schroeder.

Duane Beaver, class of 1957 and Alumni President, served as moderator of the event. Others who contributed their time and energies in preparation for this reunion were Flossie Wicker McFall, Grace Turner Clifford, and assisting with phone calls were Nilah Lewark Cox and Judy Morris. Linda Grey and her son Emerson served for registration at the door. Also thanks to many that helped with the set-up and clean-up.

After the opening greeting, it was reported that six graduates and three former students were deceased since the last reunion. There are now 102 living graduates from Orange High School. Following the silent remembrance, Duane Beaver gave the invocation.

After a delicious buffet meal prepared and served by the Orange Masonic Lodge there were drawings for winners of raffle and door prize items. The reunion committee extends our thanks to the businesses, friends, and individuals that generously donated these items. Nilah Cox was the winning recipient of the traveling picture of Miss Nellie Barrett.

The New Salem Lions Club has been reserved for the 2014 reunion tentatively on Sunday, July 13 or 20.
