n My thanks to the RCHS Class of ‘84. It was good to see so many old friends together in one place. I e-mailed a class photo to those of you who gave me an e-mail address but some of them bounced back. If you want a copy contact me here at the office and I’ll make sure I have the right info to get you one.
The photo is also available in “My Photos” at www.myspace.com/djkevingreen.
n Providing the weather doesn’t spoil things, there’s lots on tap for July 4.
The Optimist Club’s car show and swap meet gets underway at 8 a.m. in North Veterans Memorial Park.
The parade will run from the downtown area to the fairgrounds at 11 a.m. It’s headed up Main Street.
The farmers’ and artisans’ market will operate from 9 a.m. to noon in the 100 block of West Third Street (note change in location.)
Briar Patch shows will take place at 2 and 5 p.m. at the Laughlin Center.
Capping off the day will be the annual fireworks show at 10 p.m. north of Rushville Elementary School. Music for this year’s show will be broadcast on WKPW 90.7 fm (note change in radio station).
It should be a fun-filled day. My Happy Independence Day wishes go out to everyone reading this!
With all of that being said, let’s check the mail and see what’s up with The Roiling Hundreds!

n Why is it that people are looking to get something for nothing? If you want a right of way buy it. The inconvenience it causes the land owners will be twice what they get paid. How would you like it if someone put a road through the middle of your property?
n If God brings you to it (and you have faith) He'll bring you through it!
n Yeah, the Beatles are the greatest! Even after being broke up since 1970 and two of its members dead, the Beatles have still sold the 2nd highest amount of CDs this decade. (http://www.bukisa.com/articles/102651_top-selling-music-artists-of-the-2000s) Not bad for a couple of dead guys and the other two in their late 60s. (It’s interesting to note that, according to the site you reference, Eminem is the No. 1 selling recording artist of the current decade. Personally, I’ll stick with the Lads from Liverpool. kg)
