Clarence E. Bulmer, 91, a lifelong resident of Laurel, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2013 at Rush Memorial Hospital.
He was born Sept. 16, 1921 in Franklin County to Ollie and Lucy (Riefle) Bulmer.
Clarence was a World War II US Army veteran. He married Rachel Bryant Jan. 12, 1943; she passed away Feb. 15, 1969. He married Dovie Phillips in 1971 and she passed away March 6, 1994. He was then married to Lorena Stone Sept. 17, 1994; she passed away March 13, 2010.
Clarence worked many years on the Dolan farm in Rush County. He worked 12 years at D & M, retiring in 1983. Clarence was a member of Chapel Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include his sons, Ron Bulmer of Rushville and Monty Bulmer of New Castle; a step son, Steve Phillips and wife Linda of Laurel; a brother, Harold Bulmer of Rushville; sisters, Ethel and husband Donald Holbert of Glenwood and Dorothy Vail of Andersonville; four grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Besides his parents and wives, Clarence was preceded in death by a son, Charles Ray Bulmer, in 2007.
Services for Clarence will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 2, 2013 at Moster Mortuary, Rushville, where friends are welcome to visit from 4 to 8 p.m. Brother Rob Edwards will preside. Friday. Burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery. Military rites will be provided by the Rush County Veteran’s Honor Guard.
