RUSHVILLE — Chez Marshall Jr., 93, of Rushville, passed away Dec. 1, 2012 at Rush Memorial Hospital.

He was born April 10, 1919 in Shelby County to Chez Sr. and Marie (Barlow) Marshall. He lived only a short time in Shelby County and had been in Rushville since 1929. He was a 1937 graduate of Rushville High School. He married Hazel L. Bennett July 13, 1941; she preceded him in death April 10, 2004.

Chez was a US Army veteran. He retired in 1984 as supervisor of quality engineering from Allison Transmission after 32 years. He worked another 19 years consulting for General Tool in Cincinnati after retiring from Allison. Chez was a longtime member of Main Street Christian Church where he was active in nearly every aspect of the church, serving as Elder, choir member, chairman of the church board and Sunday school teacher. He truly loved his church. He was a member of Phoenix Lodge #62 F&AM, Scottish Rite, the Murat Shrine and the HSUR Shrine Club of Rush County.  

He is survived by his sons, James T. (Kathy) Marshall of Fishers, Chez III (Cheryl) Marshall of Monument, Colo., Frederick W. Marshall of Rushville and John R. (Rosie) Marshall of Lemoore, Calif.; daughters, Jane (Mike) Naylor of West Lafayette and Maribeth (Paul) Haulter of Mooresville; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

Besides his parents and wife, Chez was preceded in death by daughters, Sherry Lightmas and Debra Lynn Marshall; brothers, Tom and Fred; and great-grandson, Benjamin Newkirk.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5 at Main Street Christian Church with Rev. Sam Davenport presiding. Friends are welcome to visit from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 4 at Moster Mortuary, Rushville. Masonic services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. The Rush County Veterans Honor Guard will provide military rites. Burial will be in Rushville’s East Hill Cemetery.
