RUSHVILLE — Markus G. Strobl, 49, of Rushville, passed away Aug. 25, 2013 following a lengthy battle with cancer.
He was born Nov. 22, 1963 in Cologne, Germany, the son of the late Sebastian J. Strobl and Ursula E. (Knaack) Strobl, who survives. Markus had a Master Degree and was a self-employed Glasermeister Artist.
He came to Indiana in 1990 and Rushville in 1997. His memberships include Rotary International, German Heritage Society of Indianapolis, Rushville High School soccer coach, Rush County Choral, Rush County Amphitheater Committee and St. Mary Catholic Church.
Left to cherish his memory include his mother, Ursula Strobl of Cologne, Germany; his ex-wife and companion, Martha (Hiti) Strobl; two daughters, Sarah and Becca Strobl, all of Rushville; four brothers, Matthias, Ulrich, Sebastian and Martin Strobl, all of Germany; nine nieces and nephews; and one great-nephew.
A Mass of Remembrance will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 30, 2013 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Rushville with Rev. Jeremy Gries officiating. Private burial will take place in Rushville’s East Hill Cemetery.
