Max E. Sharp, 78, of Arlington, passed away March 23, 2013, in Rushville.
He was born Aug. 9, 1934, in Indianapolis to Ward and Irene (Price) Sharp. He was a 1951 graduate of Warren Central High School. He was a US Marine and served in the Korean War. Max spent many years in Indianapolis before moving to Arlington in 1974.
Max was a union pipe fitter and worked many years for BMW Construction in Indianapolis. He was a member and past deacon of Main Street Christian Church and was a member of the Steamfitter’s Union in Indianapolis.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth (Campbell) Sharp of Arlington; sons, Dave Sharp and his companion Peggy Rollins and Randy and wife Regina Sharp, all of Arlington; a daughter, Cindy and husband Kenny Leavelle of Chicago, Ill.; a sister, Jo Jensen of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Ashley Leavelle, Kassidy Sharp Gordon and husband David, Zachary, Dakota, Shyla and Tyler Sharp; and great-grandchildren, Shianne and Lillian Sharp and Brooklyn and Scarlett Gordon.
Max was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Dick.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 28 at Moster Mortuary, Rushville with Rev. Sam Davenport presiding. Friends are welcome to visit from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the mortuary. Burial will be in Arlington East Hill Cemetery. The Rush County Veterans Honor Guard will provide military rites.
