Pastor Clarence Joseph Lee, 86, of Rushville, went home to his Lord May 7, 2013, with his loving family at his side.
Clarence was born Oct. 19, 1926, in Raleigh, the son of the late George Jack and Edith Louise (Rodgers) Lee. He married Donna Sue Hannun June 15, 1957; she preceded him in death Oct. 24, 2012.
His was a life of service to others. He was the pastor of the former Milroy Baptist Church and was a co-founder of the Rushville Township Volunteer Fire Department. He was also the founder of Calvary Baptist Church in Greensburg. He was retired from East Hill Cemetery as superintendent after 19 years of service and also sold monuments for Oakley Monuments in Greensburg. He was a longtime member of the Lions Club. He also worked as a custodian at the Milroy school in years past.
Those left to cherish his memory include a son, Jack J. (Ruth) Lee of Frankfort, Ky.; two daughters, Molly (Clifford) Haynes of Rushville and Roxanne J. Owens of Indianapolis; a brother, Walter “Buddy” Lee of Greensburg; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Clarence was preceded in death by three sisters.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, May 10, at Todd Funeral Centre & Crematory, Rushville with Chaplain Brad Smith officiating. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow in Rushville’s East Hill Cemetery.
