RUSHVILLE — Robert E. “Bob” VanHuss, 84, of Tulsa, Okla. and formerly of Rushville, died April 29, 2013.

Born June 22, 1928, in Parke County, he was the son of Joseph W. and Cloe (Hazlett) VanHuss, both deceased. He married Phyllis (White) VanHuss March 23, 1950; she preceded him in death.

Also preceding him in death were sisters, Elsie (Sutton) VanHuss, Elizabeth (Roberts) VanHuss, Ida (McCutchan) VanHuss; and brother, Joseph W. VanHuss Jr.

Bob attended Greene Township schools in Parke County. He farmed, served in the US Marines, graduated from the Wisconsin School of Banking, audited and worked in several banks before retiring as President of the Rush County National Bank. He then was a Real Estate Broker in Rush County.

He was a member of Rotary, Elks and was very active in the Boy Scouts.

Survivors include sons, Joe (Barbara) VanHuss of Greenwood and Jon (Deb) VanHuss of Collinsville, Okla.; grandson, Jay VanHuss of Greenwood; and granddaughter, Cassie (Shawn) Lowman of Collinsville.

There will be no public service. Burial at Mt. Moriah Cemetery in Hollandsburg.
