Miriam Joan (Hultquist) Lee, 81, of Indianapolis, passed away May 2, 2013.
She is survived by children, Gary, Steve, Brian and Todd Hultquist and Ann (Mark) Betner; brother, George Wedding; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; many nieces and nephews; and her faithful kitty, Cheech.
The daughter of a United Methodist minister, Miriam lived in several different Indiana communities in childhood, eventually moving to Indianapolis following high school graduation in 1949. There she married Robert Lewis Hultquist (d. 1980), of Michigan, in a cherished ceremony at Butler chapel.
In 1972, Miriam began a 20-year career with the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis. Following retirement in 1992, she married James A. Lee of Greenwood (d. 2011). They enjoyed early retirement on Sweetwater Lake in Brown County before a 12-year residence in Florida. The Lees returned to Indiana in 2009.
Miriam enjoyed cooking, gardening, bridge, family time and cruises.
Visitation: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, May 11, at G.H. Herrmann Greenwood Funeral Home at The Gardens at Olive Branch, 1605 South State Road 135, Greenwood. Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Greenwood.
