E. Kay Turoczy, 72, of Richmond, died Saturday, Jan. 25, 2014, at her home.
Born Aug. 5, 1941, in Indianapolis to Lowell H. and Mary Frances Gilpin Wilson, Kay had lived in Richmond since 1962. She was a 1960 graduate of Mays High School. Kay was a bookkeeper for several businesses in Richmond. She was co-owner with her husband of Resitron Security Company. Kay was a member of Women Of Wayne and attended Greens Fork Christian Church and Northside Church of Christ. She enjoyed camping, crafts, reading, teaching Children’s Sunday School, working with youth groups, and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Ronald P. Turoczy; daughters, Tina Shaffer of Williamsburg and Rhonda (Rodney) Schaar of Lewisburg, Ohio; grandchildren, Paige Phenis of Williamsburg, Kelsey Harness of Kokomo, Morgan Harness of Williamsburg, and Austin, Adam, and Alyse Schaar of Lewisburg, Ohio; great grandchildren, Mason Phenis, Karsen Harness, and Kinleigh Owens; brothers, Lowell H. (Becky) Wilson of Kokomo and Maurice (Margie) Wilson of Virginia; nieces; nephews; aunts; uncles; cousins; and many friends, including the “Tuesday Night Club."
She was preceded in death by her son, Randall Turoczy; granddaughter, Alexa Schaar; and great grandson, Bentli Ray Owens.
Visitation for Kay Turoczy will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 30, 2014, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 31, 2014, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home with Matt Fagan officiating. Burial will be in Goshen Cemetery.
