---- — Keith D. Michel, 72, a life long Rushville resident, passed away Jan. 24, 2014 in Rushville. He was born Nov. 9, 1941 in Connersville to Harold H. and Leona (Krinop) Michel. He was an E4 in the U.S. Army, serving from 1963-65. He was in the U.S. Army reserves until 1969.
Keith was a 1960 graduate of Rushville High School. He worked for the State Auditor's Office in Indianpolis and the State Highway Department in Greenfield before opening and operating Michel's Bike Shop in Rushville from 1974-95. Keith was a life long member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his brothers, Delbert and wife Sally Michel of Suttons Bay, Mich., and Carl and wife Sondi Michel of St. Cloud, Fla.; nephews, David and wife Kim Michel of Columbus, Ohio and James Michel and Dee McLaughlin of Eagle Rock, Calif.; nieces, Pam and husband Greg Simms of Valparaiso, Jane and husband Jay Minnick of Liberty, Mo., and Susan and husband Scot Bryce of Munster; and several great-nieces, great-nephews and cousin. Keith was preceded in death by his parents.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 27 at Moster Mortuary, Rushville where friends are welcome to visit after noon until time of service. Burial will be in the Mud Pike Cemetery in Ripley County. Pastor Jan Dimick will preside.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Activities Fund at Flatrock River Lodge or the St. Paul's United Methodist Church.
