David Franklin Leisure, 71, passed away Jan. 14, 2014 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. He was the son of Howard F. and Helen M. (Jackson) Leisure of Carthage.
He was preceded in death by a son, Daryl F. Leisure and two sisters, Wanda Messer and Anita Logan.
Left to cherish his memory and life is Judith E. Griffin, whom he married Oct. 8, 1961; two daughters Debbie (Paul) Butler and Cathy Shelton (Roy Pribble), both of Shirley; three grandchildren, Jessica (Daniel) Overman, Timothy (Marlene) Wyatt, and Brittany (Travis) Thibeault; five great grandchildren A.J. Thibeault, Carson and Bryce Overman, Tanner and Cooper Wyatt; brother Dudley (Jenell) Leisure; sister Judy (Larry) Nelson and several nieces and nephews.
David loved tractor pulling and riding his Goldwing motorcycle. He retired from Delco Remy after 30 years.
Services for David will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 20. Calling is from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 19 at Heritage Funeral Care in Knightstown. Burial will be in Arlington Cemetery in Rushville with Pastor Bill Palmer presiding.
