Betty L. St John, 83, a long time Rush County resident, passed away Dec. 8, 2013 in Rushville. She was born Oct. 31, 1930 in Laurel to Alex and Enno (Moon) Cregar. Betty married Robert St. John on May 10, 1948 and he survives.
Betty worked many years as a QMA. She spent 16 years at Rush Memorial Hospital and also worked at Hillside Haven and Jackson Nursing Home. She did private nursing too. She worked at Visteon for five years. Betty loved to cook and made sure that no one left hungry. She often sent leftovers home for her “granddogs."
In addition to her husband, Bob, of Rushville, she is survived by son’s, Russell and wife Lisa of Hebron, Ohio, Jeffrey and wife Jane of Manilla, Ricky and wife Acacia and Scott and wife Billie all of Liberty; daughter’s, Wanda St. John of Rushville, Victoria Divan of St. Mary’s, Ga., and Elizabeth and husband David Lay of Connersville; brother’s, Alex John and wife Carolyn Cregar of Laurel, John Cregar of Milroy and Howard and wife Nora Cregar of Laurel; a sister, Nancy and husband Leon Robinson of Connersville; 18 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson; a brother, Bill; and sister’s, Lucy, Bonnie, Helen, Mary, Ruth and Fannie Sue.
Services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2013 at Moster Mortuary, Rushville. Friends are welcome to visit from 12:30 p.m. until time of service. Theron St. John will preside and burial will be in the Laurel North Cemetery.
