RUSHVILLE — William A. Leach, 89, a lifetime resident of Rush County, passed away Monday, Feb. 25, 2013 in Shelbyville.

He was born July 14, 1923 in Carthage to Sam and Myrtle (Clingfield) Leach. Bill was a 1941 graduate of Carthage High School. He married Patricia L. Denney April 9, 1971.

Bill was a mechanic many years. He worked at GE in Shelbyville many years as a welder. Bill was a member of Rushville Church of the Nazarene.

He is survived by his wife, Pat of Rushville; sons, William Eugene and wife Nancy Leach of Greenfield and William A. Jr. and wife Norha Leach of Indianapolis; step son, Charles Allen and wife Retha Spriggs of Westfield; step daughters, Catherine Joann and husband Larry Akins of Louden, Tenn., Theresa May Parker of Rushville and Brenda and husband Lee McClean of North Carolina; brothers, Charles and wife Marge Leach of Nebraska and Wayne and wife Nora Leach of Rushville; a sister, Ruth Foltz of Bargersville; four grandchildren; eight step grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Doris Irene.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, March 1 at Moster Mortuary, Rushville with Revs. Steve Bohall and Todd Reynolds presiding. Friends are welcome to visit from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary.  Burial will be in Hannegan Cemetery in Rush County.
