Danny Wayne Nigh, 58, of New Castle, passed away Thursday, May 9, 2013 at Henry County Hospital in New Castle.
He was born Aug. 1, 1954 in Rushville, a son of Hershel and Dorothy Clark Nigh.
He lived most of his life in New Castle and Rushville. He had been a cook at Ponderosa in New Castle and he had also worked at I.G.A. as a stocker in New Castle. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends by whom he will be greatly missed.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Betty Hicks Nigh of New Castle, Indiana; his mother, Dorthy Nigh of Muncie; seven children, Heather Nigh of North Vernon, Willie (Jennifer) Nigh of Shelbyville, Brandy Nigh (companion Kenny Collett) of North Vernon, David Logsdon of New Castle, Ashley Logsdon of New Castle, Jessica (Shaun) Wilkinson of New Castle, and Matt (Alicia) Logsdon of New Castle, Indiana; three step-children, Diana (David) Blanch of New Castle, Mandy (James) Sexton of New Castle, and Steve (Keeley) Smith of New Castle; two sisters, Diane Hartley of Muncie and Donna (Dean) Orr of Shelbyville; two brothers, Clarence (Barbara) Nigh of Dalton, Ga., and Ronnie (Derrith) Nigh of New Castle; 26 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
He was preceded in death by his father, Hershel Dale Nigh Sr.; brother, Hershel Dale Nigh Jr.; and a brother-in-law, Charles Hartley.
Friends may call from noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday at Macer-Hall Funeral Home & Cremation Services. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 14, 2013, at the funeral home with Reverend David Cole officiating. Burial will follow at Asberry Cemetery in Morristown.
