Edna Durbin, 85, of Homer passed away Thursday, May 9, 2013, peacefully with her family by her side at Rush Memorial Hospital.
She was born Jan. 22, 1928, in Homer to the late Olin “Fat” and LaNelle (Krammes) Edwards. She married Dale Durbin on Sept. 11, 1948. He survives.
In addition to her husband, Dale Durbin of Homer, she is survived by three sons, Olin (Candy) Durbin of Arlington, Dean (Carol) Durbin of Martinsville and Dana (Rene) Durbin of Homer; three siblings, Frank (Joan) Edwards of Rushville, Clara Jo Kilgore of New Palestine and Carolyn Brinkman of Carmel; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers.
She graduated from Manilla High School in 1945 and was a member of Homer Christian Union Church.
Edna was a homemaker and was the bookkeeper for the Durbins Garage of Homer and the Manilla Cemetery. She had been a volunteer for Rush Memorial Hospital and Hospice of South Central Indiana. Edna enjoyed reading, fishing and she loved her family and grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them.
Services will be at 110 a.m. Monday, May 13, 2013, at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Roger Abraham officiating. Burial will be in Manilla Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
