Ruby L. Hinton, 78, of Waldron, formally of Rush County, died peacefully Jan. 7, 2013, at the Waldron Health Care & Rehab facility.
She was born in Rushville Feb. 6, 1934, a daughter of the late Paul Harold and Nellie Katherine (Woods) Palmer. She married Harold Thomas Hinton in 1951 and he preceded her in death in 1991.
Ruby was retired from the Schnadig Corporation but had also worked at the original Tractor Cab Company in Arlington as well as Old Hickory Furniture in Shelbyville. She attended the Arlington Christian Church and was a member of the Red Hat Society Club and Steelworkers Union.
Her loving family includes her daughter Karen Huckaby of Arlington; two sons Joe Hinton also of Arlington and Tom Hinton of New Palestine; two brothers Charles Palmer of Rushville and Richard Palmer of Greenwood; sister Kathy (Jim) Linville of Rushville; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Kris Wooten; brother, William Palmer; and sisters Jan Hammons and Mary Krames.
Graveside Services will be 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 11, 2013, at Arlington East Hill Cemetery with Pastor Bob Brock officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Todd Funeral Centre & Crematory.
