Thomas Jefferson Rayford, 89, of Seymour, Tenn., passed away peacefully Friday, Nov. 15, 2013 at NHC Healthcare on Emerald Avenue in Knoxville.
Tommy was a member of Pineville Christian Church in Pineville, La. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Tommy was an Army veteran who defended our freedom in World War II and Korea. He enjoyed a career as a millwright with International Harvester.
Tommy was preceded in death by his grandson, Ryon Rayford; parents, Callie and Lessie Rayford; and brother, Lieutenant Colonel, Robert A. Rayford.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Suanna Rayford; son and daughter-in-law Chaplain Tom and Sandy Rayford; grandson Shane Rayford and wife Dawn; great-grandchildren Madelyn Rayford and Colin Rayford; sisters, Geneva Yount and Rebecca Barnett; sister-in-law Iris Rayford; many nieces and nephews and cherished pets, Bella and Buddy Boy.
The family will receive friends noon to 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 18, 2013 with a Celebration of Life to follow at 2 p.m. in the Click Funeral Home Farragut Chapel with Ronnie Musick officiating.
