Ray Lacy, 85, of Shelbyville, died May 3, 2013.
Born Feb. 13, 1928, in Hamden Ohio, he was the son of Edgar Elmer and Lura Mae (Lewis) Lacy, both deceased. He married Sandi Odum Jan. 5, 1968; she preceded him in death July 18, 2006.
A US Army veteran of World War II, he had lived in this area for 45 years. He was a self-employed painter for many years and had done maintenance work at United Methodist of Shelbyville for 15 years, retiring in 1985. Ray was an ordained minister. He loved reading his Bible and studied theology his entire life.
Survivors include children, DeeDee (Benny) White and Cheryl Dawn Gibson, both of Shelbyville, Terry (Vicki) Lacy of New Albany, Rick (Francis) Lacy of Russellville, Ky., and Tina (Jim) Lynch of Carswell, Texas; grandchildren, Brandon Workman, Aaron White, Jessica Bushfield, Selena Kay Timberlake, Paul Geary, Matt Lacy, Suzanne Perrot, Christina Hall, Carrie Hendrickson and Melissa Tolnay.
There will be no public service or visitation. Burial will take place at a later date in Miller Cemetery in Shelby County.
