Michael E. Dalrymple, 68, a longtime Shelbyville resident, passed away at his home in Shelbyville Sept. 9, 2013.
He was born July 6, 1945 in Rushville to Floyd E. and Vivian M. (Perkins) Dalrymple. Michael was a 1964 graduate of New Salem High School. He was a US Army veteran. Michael married Brenda Case Oct. 3, 1986.
Michael retired in April, 2013 from Freudenburg in Shelbyville after 31 years of service. He attended Shelbyville Community Church, was an avid IU fan and loved cheering on the Cincinnati Reds. He enjoyed nothing more than a good game of poker with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda of Shelbyville; a son, Michael A. Dalrymple of Marietta; a brother, Tom Dalrymple of Connersville; a sister, Connie K. and husband Michael Young of Connersville; granddaughter, Shontay; great-grandson, Corbyn; nieces and nephews, Noel C. and Neil A. Bostic, Jocelyn Snyder, Jason Thomas, Paige N. and Tanner S. Dalrymple; and several great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a niece, Tonya L. Bostic.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 13 at Moster Mortuary, Rushville with Pastor Brad Davis presiding. Friends are welcome to visit at the mortuary from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville. Military graveside rites will be provided by the Shelby County Veteran’s Honor Guard.
