KNIGHTSTOWN — Joseph P. Nash, 71, of Knightstown, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2013, at Hancock Regional Hospital in Greenfield.
He was born in New York City, New York on June 23, 1942, the son of the late Joseph Charles and Rose (Celitano) Nash.
Joseph owned J.D. Kem’s Paint Distributor in Knightstown for 32 years. He graduated from Cardinal Hayes High School in New York, was an A.M.C. Mechanic in Bethesda, Maryland and Indianapolis.
He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, was a member of the Knightstown American Legion Post # 152 and a member of the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Knightstown.
He married his wife Haila Diana (Strickland) Nash in 1965 at Fall Church in Virginia.
Survivors include his wife, Haila; son, Keary P. Nash of Paragon; daughters, Melissa A. Ritzler of Fairborn, Ohio, Erica (Philip) Jackson of Martinsville; and grandchildren, Katherine and Thomas Jackson of Martinsville.
He was preceded in death by his parents and stepmother; Gloster Nash.
Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013, at St. Rose of Lima Parish in Knightstown, with Father Jeremy Gries officiating. Burial will follow at Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown with military rites conducted by Knightstown American Legion. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 6, 2013, at Condo and Son Funeral Home in Wilkinson.
