Maurice W. Kuhn, Jr., 67, a life long Rush County resident, passed away at his home May 8, 2014 with his family at his side. He was born Jan. 19, 1947 in Rushville to Maurice W. and Wanda (Kemp) Kuhn. Junior was a 1965 graduate of Manilla High School. He served honorably in the U.S. Army in Vietnam. He married Pamela Schmaltz on Oct. 5, 1968, she survives.
Junior was a life long Rush County farmer. He also owned and operated Kuhn Orchard. He was a deacon at the Arlington Christian Church and a past trustee. He was a founding member of the Rushville Twp. VFD where he had served since 1981. He loved tractor pulls and was passionate about his IH 460.
He is survived by his wife, Pam, of Rushville; son, Billy and wife Gina Kuhn of Rushville; daughter, Missi and husband Shawn McNealy of Hope; brothers, Phil and wife Judy Kuhn of Rush County and Jim and wife Beverly Kuhn of North Carolina; sisters, Kay Rogers of Homer and Nancy Crousore of Indianapolis; and grandchildren, Brittany Kuhn, Brady McNealy and Will Kuhn. He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Carlyle Maurice McNealy.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, May 12 at the Arlington Christian Church where friends are welcome to visit from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday, May 11. Donald Heller will preside and burial will be in the Arlington East Hill Cemetery. The Rush County Veterans Honor Guard will provide military honors and the Rushville Twp. VFD will provide fireman's honors.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Rushville Twp. VFD or the Arlington Christian Church.
