---- — Virgil W. Dolan, 89, a life time Rush County resident, passed away April 23, 2014 in Columbus. He was born Jan. 23, 1925 in Rush County to Glen and Mabel (Suter) Dolan. Virgil was a 1942 graduate of New Salem High School. He married Norma Lee Ruff on Feb. 25, 1945 and she survives.
Virgil lived his entire life in Rush County, but spent nearly 40 winters in Stuart, Florida. He was a Rush County farmer his entire life and a life time member of the Little Flatrock Christian Church. He was a member of the Rushville Elk's Lodge #1307 and the New Salem Lion's Club. Virgil enjoyed playing golf, boating and deep sea fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Norma Lee Dolan of Rush County; daughters, Paula and husband Ed Constant of Columbus and Nan McGinnis of West Chester, Ohio; grandchildren, Anne and husband Charlie Koontz, Brent Clifford and wife Tracey, Erin, Jay and Joshua McGinnis; and great grandchildren, Carson and Blake Fields and Payton Koontz. He was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Amanda Gatesy; brother, Glen H. Dolan; and sisters, Aline Winkler and June Griner.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Friday, April 25 at Moster Mortuary, Rushville with Rev. Patrick Smith presiding. Visitation is from noon to 3 p.m. Friday with an Elk's Memorial Service at 2:45 p.m. at the mortuary. Burial will be at East Hill Cemetery.
