Larry Scott Messer, 74, of Kingston, Tenn., passed away Monday, April 21, 2014 at his home. Larry was a member of the Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, Kingston.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Wanda Sue Messer; parents, Jack and Mary Tremnell Messer; grandson, Scott Thomas McCartt; step brother, Roger Beavers; twin sisters, Penny Kay and Gloria Fay Messer, and step mother, Vivian McClintock Messer.
Larry is survived by his companion, Carolyn Jackson; children, Mark Messer and wife Sherri of Charlottesville, Joni McCartt and husband Tom of Gainesville, Fla., Jack Messer and wife Dawn of Haymarket, Va., and John Messer and wife Jamie of Mascoutah, Ill.; grandchildren, Kristin, Sarah, Ashton, Colton, Alyssa, Alex, Megan, Erika, and Jordan; great granddaughter, Layla; sisters, Barbara Huffines of Indiana and Linda Chew of Texas; brothers, Jack William Messer of Indiana; several nieces and nephews.
