Marvin Cox, 67, of Rushville, passed away Saturday, April 19, 2014, while in the company of family members, at Morristown Manor.
Marvin was born on June 9, 1946, a son of the late Carmen (Richards) and Hubert E Cox.
He was the husband of Joann (Ryle) Cox. They were married Aug. 22, 1965 and she survives. He graduated from Milroy High School in 1963, retired from International Harvester after 30 years, worked for Keith Ison building windows and then a meter reader for Rush Shelby Energy. He was a member of Arlington Christian Church. He loved gardening, fishing and playing music with friends. He was a member of the Slow Freight Band in the late 1970s.
He is survived by his wife; daughter, Carol (Kevin) Geise of Arlington; son, Scott Cox (Sara) of Arcadia; and grandchildren, Maria and Joel Geise and Kathryn and Nathan Cox.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 24 at Arlington Christian Church with Rev. Robert Brock officiating. Visitation is from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 23 at Arlington Christian Church.
Memorials can be made to Arlington Christian Church, Hospice of Decatur County and Americian Cancer Society.
