RUSHVILLE — Richard B. Ruby, 84, of Rushville died July 24, 2013 at his residence.
He was born Aug. 15, 1928 in Rush County, a son of the late Clarence E. and Margaret Edith (Ellison) Ruby. He married Mary E. Henisa Jan. 4, 1958; she preceded him in death Sept. 20, 1999.
Richard was a lifelong farmer and drove a school bus many years. He was devoted to his children and grandchildren. He was a 1948 graduate of Rushville High and was a US Air Force veteran during the Korean War.
Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Amy Brammer, and son, Eric Ruby, both of Rushville. He is also survived by a sister, Joan Mullins of South Bend; sister-in-law, Nancy Ruby of Angola and brother-in-law, Forrest Marlatt of Rushville; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his sisters, Phyllis Israel Laurence and Anita Marlatt; and brothers, Lowell, Leland and Maurice.
A Celebration of Life and military honors will be 10 a.m. Saturday, July 27 at Hannegan Christian Church, CRs 400N and 500W, Rushville, with Warren Engel officiating. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the church.
Burial will take place in Glen Cove Cemetery, Knightstown.
