Mary Joann Hamilton, 61, of Rushville, passed away Monday, May 6, 2013, at her residence while in the company of family members.
Mary was born Aug. 12, 1951, a daughter of the late Martha (Bishop) and Leonard Sallee. She was the widow of James Hamilton.
She is survived by sisters, Phyllis Porter, Gail (Jerry) Hileman, Dorothy Owens, Ruth Kubicek, Thelma Sallee, Sadra (Ronnie) Price, Candy (Keith Phillips) of Connersville and Patricia Sallee; brothers, Bill (Diane) Sallee of Wolcott, Richard (Alice) Sallee, John Sallee, Edward (Tina) Revalee and Chuck (Denise) Sallee.
She was preceded in death by half sister, Betty Lou Engle; husband, James Hamilton; mother, Martha Bishop Sallee; father, Leonard Earl Sallee; brother, Robert (Howdy) Sallee; sister, Karen Sue Sallee; brother-in-law, Dallas Owens; brother-in-law, Michael Norman.
She was employed at Continental Kitchen in Shelbyville for 10 years before retiring.
Funeral services are at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 9, 2013, at Rushville Baptist Temple with Rev. Garry Evans officiating. Burial will follow in East Hill Cemetery, Rushville. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 8, 2013, at the church.
