Ruth E. Oldham, 88, a life long Rush County resident, passed away peacefully on Dec. 3, 2013 in Rushville. She was born Aug. 25, 1925 in Rush County to Maurice W. and Berniece (Sherwood) Kile. Ruth married Byron Oldham on Aug. 26, 1945 and he survives.
Ruth worked 40 years as a bookkeeper for Farm Bureau Co-Op and Wayne Feed and Supply. She had been a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church since 1954. She was active in the United Methodist Women's Group and a member of the Delta Theta Tau sorority several years.
She is survived by her husband, Byron, of Rushville; a son, Max and wife Mary Oldham of Indianapolis; a daughter, Janet Poe of Rushville; a brother, Kevin and wife Marsha Kile of Muncie; a sister, Mabel and husband Carl Marlatt of Rushville; and granddaughter's, Amanda Poe and Maggie and husband Ciara'n Byrne. Ruth was preceded in death by two brother's, Charles Jonathon and Walter Thomas Kile.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7 at St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Rushville. Friends are welcome to visit at the church after 10:30 a.m. Saturday until time of service. Pastor Jan Dimick will preside and entombment will be in the East Hill Shrine Mausoleum.
