Dick Reed, 91, of Rushville, passed away Oct. 5, 2013, in Rushville. He was born in Franklin County to Edward & Jessica (Williamson) Reed.
Dick was a 1940 graduate of Laurel High School and a WW II US Navy veteran, serving from 1942-1945. He married Jane Boroski on July 23, 1945, and she preceded him in death on Feb. 12, 1975. He married Judy Finney on April 10, 1976, and she survives.
Dick retired after 40 years as an electrician. He was a member of the Main Street Christian Church, the Rushville Lions Club where he had served as secretary for 20 years and the Rushville BPOE #1307.
In addition to his wife, Judy, of Rushville, Dick is survived by his daughter, Becky (Mike) Lyons of Indianapolis; a grandson, Jim (Felicia) Lyons of Indianapolis; a granddaughter, Jessica Lyons of Indianapolis; and great grandson, Spencer Figner. Dick was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, four brothers and three sisters.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 11, 2013, at Rushville's East Hill Cemetery with Rev. Sam Davenport presiding. Military rites will be provided by the Rush County Veteran's Honor Guard. Friends are welcome to visit from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 9, at Moster Mortuary, Rushville.
