Alma L. Haehl, 92, a longtime Rush County resident, passed away Sept. 30, 2013, in Rushville.
She was born June 13, 1921, in Decatur County to Dilver D. and Mary E. (Piles) Melick. She was a 1939 graduate of Milroy High School. She spent most of her life in the Milroy and Gowdy areas.
Alma married J. Edward Haehl on April 13, 1952; he preceded her in death Dec. 11, 1987.
She worked many years at Emmerick Realty as a secretary and also worked at various businesses in Rushville as a secretary. Alma was a member of Big Flatrock Christian Church.
Alma is survived by her daughter, Mary Jo and husband Richard Walker of Windfall; a granddaughter, Laurel Ann Dewees Cooper; and great-grandchildren, Damion Dewees and Jazmyn Cooper.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, an infant brother, sister, Wilma Bennett and twin sister, Edith L. Myers.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013, at Moster Mortuary, Rushville, where friends are welcome to visit after 11:30 a.m. until time of service. Dr. Robert Burgbacher will preside and burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville.
