RUSHVILLE — Robert L. Floyd, 77, of Crossville, Tenn. and formerly of Rushville, passed away Friday, July 26, 2013 at Cumberland Medical Center in Crossville, Tenn.
He has resided in Lake Tansi at Crossville for the past 17 years. He was born May 17, 1936 in Rushville, the son of the late Otto and Addie Browning Floyd. He is a graduate of Rushville High School. Robert served in the US Air Force for four years. He spent his career in supervision and upper management. At the time of his retirement he was Vice President of Manufacturing at Garland-Wellbuilt in Hazelton, Pa. His hobbies and the loves of his life are family, friends, golf and NASCAR. He regularly attended Lake Tansi Community Church.
He is survived by his wife, Pauline Hayslett Floyd, to whom he was married March 1, 1975. He is also survived by a son, Robert Floyd Jr. of Missouri; a step son, Gary and Rhonda Hornung, Edinburg; step daughters, Sheri Hornung Baker, Connersville, Susan Hornung, Colorado and Stacy and Richard Sorensen, Cheaspeake, Va.; a sister, Mary Kathryn and Clayton Haehl, Pulaski, Tenn.; 15 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Bruce and Martha Wright of Centerville, Ohio.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his son, Brian.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday Aug. 2, 2013 at Urban-Winkler Funeral Home. Burial with military honors will be in Dale Cemetery. Friends and family may visit from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
