---- — William Ralph Matney, 72, a life-long Rushville resident, passed away Oct. 17, 2013 in Rushville. He was born Jan. 25, 1941 in Rushville to Ralph and Margaret E. (Disbro) Matney, both deceased. Bill was a 1959 graduate of Rushville High School.He began his career in the publication business in 1956 when he went to work for the Rushville Republican. He worked in photography and served as sports editor for many years. In 1976, he went to work for Mayhill Publications in Knightstown. He held many positions with Mayhill, some of which included newspaper make up, paste up editor, photography reproduction designer and he worked in the camera department. Mayhill Publications consisted of Farm World, Antique Week, the Knightstown Banner, Option Exchange and the Indianapolis Monthly. He retired in April 2012. Bill is survived by cousins, Rick and wife Susie Disbro of Milroy,Allan and wife Jo Disbro of Warsaw, Jerry and wife Meleda Macy of Tennessee and Jon Disbro; second cousins Kevin and Troy Disbro; very dear friends Bob and Emma Hall of Knightstown; and long-time friends Leonard and Sharon Dice.Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 21 at Moster Mortuary, Rushville, with Rev. Leonard Dice presiding. Friends are welcome to visit at the mortuary from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 20. Entombment will be in the East Hill Shrine Mausoleum.Memorial contributions may be made to the Rushville Church of the Nazarene.
