Percilla "Susie" Shideler, 67, a life time resident of Rushville, passed away March 15, 2014 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born Jan. 21, 1947 to John W. and Josephine (Fletcher) Wilson.
Susie was a 15 year member of the Ladies Auxillary of the Rushville VFW #1541 and a long time member of the First Southern Baptist Church, Rushville. She had many restraunts throughout the years, the Root Beer Cellar in Metamora, the BLT & The Point in Andersonville and Susie's Cafe in Knox. She loved to sew, quilt and make crafts in her spare time and she always found time to spoil her grandkids.
She is survived by a daughter, Samantha Shideler and fiance' Walter Eicher of Goshen; sons, Scott A. Gorman of Terra Haute and Lawrence Gorman III of Rushville; brother, Lewis and wife Pat Glover of Tennessee; sisters, JoAnn Jackson and Judy Jackson both of Carthage and Jean and husband Donald Nolley of Greenfield; and grandchildren, Jered Gorman, Serenity Shideler and Brandi Ward. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Olla Mummert.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 22 at the First Southern Baptist Church in Rushville. Visitation is at the church from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday. Brother Jeff Edwards will preside and burial will be in Rushville's East Hill Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First Southern Baptist Church or the Indiana Eye Institute.
