Janet J. Moore Markley Egielske, 76, of Rushville, passed away March 5, 2014 in Rush Memorial Hospital. She was born June 15, 1937 in Rush County to Wilbur and Marjorie (Rhoades) Moore. Janet was a 1956 graduate of Boggstown High School.
Janet worked as a waitress many years. She waitressed at the Firehouse Restaurant and the Elk's Lodge in Rushville, Frisch's Big Boy in Shelbyville, worked many years as a clerk at Deb & Bob's Video in Rushville and ran a daycare in her home for many years. She was a member of the Rushville Church of Christ.
She is survived by her sons, Greg and wife Shirley Crouse of Buford, S.C., Mickey and wife Leslie Markley, Billy and wife Lisa Markley, Timmy and wife Sheila Markley all of Rushville and John "Pollock" and wife Michelle Egielske of Rush County; daughters, Marilyn Markley of Rushville, Mary Markley Harrah of Brownsburg and Jenny Egielske and husband Max Colestock of Homer; brothers, Robert and wife Debbie Moore and Max Moore and companion Becky Teegarden; sisters, Bevery Whittaker, Linda and husband Rodney Knarr, Deb Carolton and Diane and husband Tom Carolton, all of Rushville; 34 grandchildren and great grandchildren also survive.
Janet was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, William Markley and John Egielske; sisters, Mary Ruth Lee and Norma Lee; brothers, Sonny, Mike and infant Harold Moore; and son, Scott Alan Markley.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 10, 2014 at Moster Mortuary, Rushville with Josh Fennell presiding. Friends are welcome to visit at the mortuary from 2 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, March 9. Burial will be in the Arlington East Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association.
