RUSHVILLE — Melinda Dora, 35, a life-long Rush County resident, passed away Oct. 22, 2013, after a courageous year-long battle with cancer. She was born Nov. 22, 1977, in Rushville to Larry and Jean (Hunter) Johnson.
Melinda was a 1996 graduate of Rushville Consolidated High School and received her Associates Degree in accounting from Indiana Business College. She married Drew Dora on June 26, 1999.
She worked for the State Board of Accounts many years as an auditor. She also owned and operated Studio 3 in Rushville. Melinda was a member of Center Christian Church where she was very active in the Praise Band and Worship Ministry. She also was active in the Rush County Relay for Life.
In addition to her parents and husband, Drew, of Rush County, she is survived by a son, Nathan and daughters, Olivia, Sophia and Natalie Dora, all at home; a brother, Brian and wife Brandi Johnson of Rush County; and grandmother, Dorothy Hunter of Rushville. Melinda was preceded in death by grandparents, John Hunter and Thomas and Marcella Johnson.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 26, 2013, at Center Christian Church, 9912 N 50 W, Mays, with Pastor Darryl Denney presiding. Friends may visit at the church from 1 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 25. Burial will be in Rushville's East Hill Cemetery.
