Frances C. Owens, 84, of Columbus, passed away Jan. 11, 2014 at Kindred Health Care in Columbus.
Frances was born April 4, 1929, in Peppertown, the daughter of the late Fred and Catherine (Wesling) Stirn. She graduated from Rushville High in 1947 and married Louis C. Owens Nov. 25, 1948 and he passed away Dec. 19, 2004. She was a homemaker, loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of St. Bartholomew Catholic Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Mindy (Dave) Houchins of Hope, Lisa (Troy) Barnes of Columbus; two sons, Tony (Michelle) Owens of Columbus and Steve (Candy) Owens of Connersville; grandchildren Chad Houchins, Kimberlie Teltoe, Katy Barnes, Hanna Barnes, Hilary Owens, Claire Owens, Terry Owens, Shelby Owens, Drake Maddix, Delaney Maddix, Jason Graves and Nicole Martin; three great grandchildren Taylor, Maddi and Kaileigh; and 10 step great grandchildren also survive. A sister-in-law Bonnie Stirn of Big Rapids, Mich., and many nieces and nephews also survive.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two children Cathy and Terry; one grandchild, Jackson Houchins; and siblings Dorothy, Delores, Leonard, Charles and Anna Mae.
A Celebration of Life will be at 1 p.m.Wednesday, Jan. 15, at Todd Funeral Centre & Crematory in Rushville, with Rev. Jeremy Gries officiating. Friends are invited at 11 a.m. Wednesday. Burial will follow at Rushville’s Calvary Cemetery.
