Norman has been a 50-year+ member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church. He served as past exalted ruler of the No. 1307 Elks Lodge. Other organizations Norman involved himself with included the Masonic Lodge, the American Legion, the Rushville Stock Club and the Circle 8 Poker Club, with seven of his best friends. Norman always loved sharing time with his friends.
Due to failing health, the Copple's sold their big house on Harrison Street, and moved to the independent apartments at the Ashford Place in Shelbyville in 2010.
Services for Mr. Copple will be held 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 7, 2014, at Moster Mortuary in Rushville. Pastor Jan Dimick will preside. Visitation with the family will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 6, also at the mortuary. A Masonic service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Military rites will be presented at the mortuary. Mr. Copple will be buried at Rushville's East Hill Cemetery.
Memorial contributions can be given St. Paul's United Methodist Church or the Rushville Public Library for children's books.
