RUSHVILLE — Louella Louise (Joyce) Callon, 94, of Rushville, passed away early Sunday morning, Aug. 18, 2013.
A longtime resident of Rushville, she had lived the past three years at Flatrock River Lodge.
Louella was born Aug. 14, 1919 in Dayton, Ohio to Louise and Bluford Joyce, and married Clarence L. Callon on Sept. 23, 1939 in Moores Hill, Ind. Clarence preceded her in death on Feb. 23, 1994.
Louella was a member of Greensburg Methodist Church for many years. She was an avid Bridge player and maintained an active card club until three years ago. Over the years she also created many keepsakes and collectibles using her abilities at needlepoint, quilting, crocheting, craftwork and sewing. Louella was a kind, caring, and loving wife, mother and grandmother who devoted her life to creating and maintaining a good home for her family. She also loved to cook and enjoyed the time spent with family and friends at everyday meals, birthdays, and holidays throughout her life.
Louella is survived by her son, Gerald (Gary) and his wife Judith Callon of Huntsville, Ala.; son-in-law, John Todd; grandchildren, April Todd, Pat Todd (Tonya); great-grandchildren, Madison and Ashley Todd, Jessica Coons (Corey), and Tyler Wooten, all of Rushville; grandchildren, William Glyn of Huntsville, Ala., Randy Glyn of Houston, Texas; great-grandchild, Brooke Glyn of Houston, Texas; brother, James and his wife Gertrude of Lawrenceburg, Ind.; and several cousins.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Connie L. Todd; brother, Henry and his wife, Eljean Joyce.
Calling will be from 11 a.m. to noon on Thursday, Aug. 22, 2013 at Todd Funeral Home with the funeral following. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Rushville.
