Delores A. VanBibber, 72, a life long Rushville resident, passed away Dec. 15, 2013 in Rushville. She was born Sept. 17, 1941 in Rushville to Clifford and Retha (Bradburn) Colestock. She married Robert E. VanBibber on Dec. 3, 1982 and he preceded her in death on Sept. 12, 1989.
Dee worked many years as an aid for Hillside Haven, the Rush County Home, Miller’s Merry Manor, the Holiday House and Decatur County Hospital. She babysat many years in her home and also drove a taxi for Bowles Taxi Service. Dee was a life member of the Rushville VFW.
She is survived by a son, Terry and wife Kami Eckart of Rushville; a brother, Lowell Richard “Red” and wife Patsy Colestock of Knightstown; sisters, Wanda and husband Bob Wyatt of Knightstown and Becky and husband Paul Harr of Rushville; a grandson, Ryan Eckart; a granddaughter, Kristi Schofner; and great grandchildren, Lottie, Keelen, Chase and Hannah. Several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Emma McCory.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 19 at Moster Mortuary, Rushville, where friends are welcome to visit from 11 a.m. until time of service. Pastor Ray Sweet will preside and burial will be in Rushville’s East Hill Cemetery.
