Deborah S. Tompkins, 64, a lifelong Rushville resident, passed away Tuesday evening at her home in Rushville.
She was born Jan. 25, 1949 in Rushville to Allen Riegle and Fay L. (Crawford) Rardin. Debbie married Larry Tompkins June 16, 1995; he survives.
Debbie was a member of the Rushville Eagles Lodge, the Eagles Riders and was a trustee with the Ladies Auxiliary. She was also a member of American Legion Post #150. She worked nearly 25 years as an aid in respiratory therapy at Rush Memorial Hospital. She and her husband Larry also were owners of Rush County Tire for many years.
She is survived by her husband, Larry of Rushville; her mother, Fay Rardin of Williamstown; a son, Jerry Haynes of Rushville; a daughter, Angie Turner of Shelbyville; step sons, Larry Tompkins of Knightstown, John Tompkins of Danville, Ky. and Mikey Beihl of Rush County; a step daughter, Anna Fay Tompkins of Danville, Ky.; sisters, Kimberly and husband Nathan Grimmett and Rebecca Bowling, both of Anderson; two grandchildren; five step grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Debbie was preceded in death by her father, Allen Riegle; and step father, Oliver Rardin.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 29 at Moster Mortuary, Rushville, with Danny Shelton presiding. Friends are welcome to visit from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 29 at the mortuary. Cremation will follow service.
