---- — The Rush County United Fund is a 501c3 organization formed to provide financial support to several service agencies in Rush County.

Those agencies include Big Brothers Big Sisters, the Boys & Girls Club of Rush County, Changing Footprints, the Community Food Pantry, Mental Health America, the Salvation Army, the Rush County Senior Citizens Center, Rush County Victim’s Assistance and Rush County 4-H, which did not apply for funding in 2013.

The Rush County United Fund accepts contributions from payroll deductions, corporate donations, individual donors, business donations, grants and from other affiliate United Way agencies.

Formed in 1958, the Rush County United Fund has had a direct impact on our community through the generosity of those who have made contributions to RUF through the years.

RUF’s mission has been to raise funds for member agencies to enhance their ability to provide services to persons in need of assistance in our community.

Some of the services provided by our agencies include a mentoring program provided by Big Brothers Big Sisters; before and after school programs provided by the Boys & Girls Club; shoes provided for the needy by Changing Footprints; food provided to over 250 needy families a month by the Community Food Pantry; self-esteem programs for children in our county provided by Mental Health America; the Salvation Army provides assistance with rent, utility payments and various other needs of persons in our community; the Senior Citizens Center provides services through their “Ride Rush” program for those in need of transportation; the Rush County Victim’s Assistance program provides a safe haven for those in abusive relationships; and Rush County 4-H is very active with their many programs for the youth of Rush County.

Your donated dollars to the Rush County United Fund can have a huge impact on the efficiency of the above funded agencies.

Area residents are encouraged to donate to the local United Fund.
