Entries invited for Riley Festival Home Arts and Quilt Show

Riley Festival 2013 will be here before we know it — Oct. 3-6, in Greenfield. Once again, Hancock County Extension Homemakers will sponsor the Home Arts and Quilt Show. We are excited to be returning to the Courthouse Annex, 111 American Legion Place, in the Commissioners Meeting Room in Greenfield. The facility has no steps and is handicap accessible.

Entries will be judged and placing ribbons awarded in two age categories: Junior, 16 and under; Senior, 17 and above. Open to everyone, entrants need not be residents of Hancock County, a member of 4-H or Extension Homemakers.

Some of the categories that may be entered include: Baking, Food Preservation, Quilts, Sewing, Needlecrafts, Painting, Dolls, Toys, Wood, Leather and more. All antique and collectibles entries receive participation ribbons. For complete information, visit www.rileyfestival.com to print the entry form and see a complete listing of categories.

Entry forms and information are also available at Hancock County Extension Service, 802 N. Apple St. and the Riley Festival Office, 312 E. Main St (in the rear), Greenfield. Questions should be directed to Bert Jones, HHS Educator, 317-462-1113; Rosalie Hunt, Home Arts co-chair, 317-485-9609, email jhunt5@indy.rr.com; Debbie Stucker, Home Arts co-chair, 317-861-5843, email oledads@comcast.net; the Riley Festival Office, 462-2141; online at info@rileyfestival.com

The show will be open to the public during Festival hours, beginning Thursday, Oct. 3, 5 at p.m.

A special invitation is extended to those 16 and under (juniors.) We encourage you to share some of the wonderful exhibits shown at the 4-H fair and/or anything else you have created.
