“Heavy trash” collection approaching

Set for second half of April

RUSHVILLE — The Rushville Street Department has announced plans for “heavy trash” collection.

If you live north of the Flatrock River you should set your heavy trash out the week of April 15 to 19.

Pick up will be the following week, April 22 to 26.

If you live south of the Flatrock River you should set your “heavy trash” out the week of April 22 to 26.

Pick up will be the following week, April 29 to May 3.

The city dump will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. if you would like to dispose of your own heavy trash at no charge. This is just for one week only, April 22 to 26.

Items excluded are tires, air-conditioners and refrigerators. Those items may be dropped off at the city dump for a small fee.

The city will no longer pick up TVs or computers.

Those items have to be disposed of at the Tox-Away Center, where you can now dispose of air-conditioners, freezers and refrigerators along with electronics. (Anything with a circuit board.)

The Clean Green Rush Tox-Away Center at 225 S. Smiley Avenue is open from 8 a.m. to noon the first Saturday of each month.

The Tox-Away Center is a joint venture of the city of Rushville and Clean Green Rush established to avoid pollution by accepting toxic chemicals, oil-based paints (no latex paint), stains, solvents, pesticides, TV, computers, etc. from all Rush County residents.

They also accept batteries, florescent bulbs and used motor oil.

For more information call 938-1342 or go to www.cleangreenrush.org.

If you have any questions about “heavy trash” collection call the Street Department at 932-2575.
